Showcasing the Collections U of T Libraries

On February 16 the Graham Library hosted library staff from across campus to kick off the UofT Library’s 2017 Showcasing the Collections series. Librarians John Papadopoulos and Kate MacDonald toured colleagues around the library, highlighting the library’s architectural features, history, and rare books and special collections. Since the U of T Libraries system consists of 44 libraries, Showcasing the Collections offers staff across UTL the opportunity to visit libraries they may not have been to previously and to learn about their specialties during informal lunchtime tours.

During the tour, visitors toured the library space and learned more about how the current space was re-envisioned from its previous incarnation as an Engineering residence. They also visited the Shakespeare at Trinity Exhibit and had inside look at the John Strachan Collection, Strachan’s personal library held in the library’s rare and special collections storage facility.
